Hi I’m Alison.I am an Associate Solicitor here at *particular. I joined the firm just over two years ago when I made the switch from criminal law to corporate law and I have never looked back.

I spend most of my time working in corporate finance, mainly leading investment deals and other corporate matters and I also head the Employment department here. I split my time between our office in Newcastle and Telefonica’s office in London, where we provide office hours as Legal Coach for the accelerator programme, Wayra. I occasionally pick up other areas due to the nature of the firm and the ongoing business needs of our clients. When I’m not doing this, I seem to spend a lot of time defending my Teesside roots, as my colleagues seem to think I’m from Mars even though I only live 45 minutes away from Newcastle. They have even created a ‘Hartlepool Dictionary’ to help them interpret some of my many phrases.

I would say the best thing about working at *particular is most definitely the firm’s clients. Moving into the tech and creative industries has been a real eye-opener for me and I can honestly say it makes my job much more rewarding working with such interesting and innovative teams and watching them grow. Outside of the office, I enjoy musical theatre and running. I have a big family who I spend a lot of time with and have six nieces and nephews who keep me on my toes.
